EVEREST SUMMIT LODGE - PANGBOCHE
Hedged by Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kang Taiga, and Kongde, Everest Summit Lodge at Pangboche is where it all comes together. Pangboche is nestled amid such Himalayan giants that photographs can’t record what your eyes see.
Right off the main trail to Everest Base Camp, Everest Summit Lodge at Pangboche is in a most excellent location at one of the highest permanent settlements in the Everest region. Pangboche is a traditional village, inhabited by Sherpa people, and home to one of the oldest monasteries in Nepal. Everest Summit Lodge is the best and most comfortable accommodation you will meet on your trek up to Everest Base Camp.
Things to do
Our lodge in Pangboche is the perfect starting point for a day walk up to the Ama Dablam Base Camp at 4.295m and is a great acclimatization day over spending an extra night in Dingboche. Many of our guests have preferred the lunch-time view of Ama Dablam and several other high peaks over Everest Base Camp and although it's a lesser-known destination to trekkers, it's a favorite mountain of many Mountaineers so during climbing season (early Spring) you will see plenty of expedition tents and teams, click here to see a fantastic company if you're interested in climbing!
If you're not too tired after a day's trek, there is a local Sherpa monastery to visit and further above the village, a school built by Mr. Um Hong-Gil, South Korea's most formidable Mountaineer and Philanthropist. Schools up in the Everest Region are run quite differently so it's eye-opening how local children are educated.
All ten rooms in Pangboche have ensuite hot showers and toilets, electric blankets in every room, and double glazed windows for the best insulation possible in the region.
